| - This is the best Irish pub in Las Vegas, and I specifically went looking for one I felt was worthy of describing as such. It beat out the Nine Fine Irishmen in the New York New York, as well as Rí Rá in the Mandalay Bay for the title.
We came over after a movie at the Orleans on a lark, and could not have been happier. They had food and beer specials, and we got there just in time for happy hour, when pints (real 20-ounce Imperial Pints, not 16-ounce American ones) are a dollar off, and most of the appetizers are half-price as well.
We started with the Irish Nachos, which other reviewers have gone on about for good reason! Layers of crisps and cheese and bacon with a dollop of sour cream the size of Texas on it. And that's just the "mini" size. We also had their brilliant chips & gravy with their fantastic onion gravy--inexpensive, simple and delicious.
The main course included show-stealing portions of their chicken and curry pie, and the best Reuben sandwich in living memory. We hadn't the room for dessert, but returned for another visit to try the toffee pudding. I also tried the Irish Breakfast on our second visit, and the black and white pudding coupled with real rashers of Irish bacon and the best banger I had in a long time sold and resold me on making this not only my #1 Irish Pub pick, but my favorite restaurant in all of Sin City.
The décor is excellently authentic, down to pictures of regulars in the wall and a map of the Emerald Isle on the ceiling. Banquet rooms offer seating for large parties and interior partitions give a good but of separation between smaller tables. The service was also superb every time we came in; the bartenders were personable, the wait staff was friendly and made sure we always had a fresh pint when we needed one, and we never wanted for attention yet didn't feel smothered.
We unfortunately never made it in when they had live music, but the fact that they're already the best Irish pub we could find in town coupled with featuring live Irish music just makes them better.
Come in here and enjoy the craic. As soon as I come back through Las Vegas, I'm going to.
