I am a huge fan of Thai Taste on East Boulevard, and so far as I can tell, this is owned/operated by the same folks. However, it is an entirely different experience, from the atmosphere to the food itself.
When you walk in, this is more like an upscale eatery (as far as atmosphere goes), which isn't necessarily bad - it's just different. When you ask for hot on East Boulevard, you can get something that is hot - when you ask for hot here, you get something middling. Perhaps they expect those of us in the suburbs don't know what we can handle or something, but it is an entirely different experience.
The flavors are also just not as good - though East Boulevard is a much longer trek, it's well worth it for me to head there instead of this middling experience.
