| - Hiring this company was the worst choice I made for my recent move. There is nothing 'professional' about this moving company. I should have cancelled when they called to confirm the wrong day. After receiving a confirmation call for the correct day and time (Monday, 9 a.m.) I was all packed and ready. 10 a.m., no movers. I called and was informed the truck broke down and they were about 20 minutes away. 11 a.m. still no movers. I call again and was told I had been rescheduled for the afternoon, that the truck that broke down was going somewhere else. At this point I'm stressed and crying. He said he would call me back in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later, the dispatcher calls, tells me he is coming and they are on their way. Now instead of sending someone from West Mifflin (20 minutes away) I'm getting a truck from Zelinople (45+ minutes away) 'because I'm on the other side of the river'. So ok, they will be there by 12:30. 1:30 still no movers! I call again and get the same 20 minutes away speech. At 2:30 they finally show up. An 80 year old man, an 18 year old kid and one other guy. It was obvious these guys were not exactly professional movers. Turned out the older one actually was the only 'pro' - the other two were temps who were pulled off the dock and sent to move me. Their first day working for this company. After some struggles, the truck is packed. I had already stressed numerous times that my furniture was large and heavy, not junk. And I told them they should call for help because my new place had stairs. It is now 5:30 and I was actually asked if all my stuff was going to my new place that day because they had to be back for rides. Um, I am moving less than a mile away, you are NOT taking all my possessions and keeping them overnight! Finally the unpacking begins (after I order pizza for these guys because they had no food/water with them as they were unprepared to move anyone) Even with one other guy actually coming to help, It was another 3 hours before the truck was unloaded. All I can say is that they did get everything inside. After I paid $1200 for a one bedroom apartment to a one bedroom house move less than a mile away, I go upstairs to see a moving strap around my king size mattress on the middle of the floor. Luckily I had a number in my phone from their arrival call, and was able to call them to come back and remove it. Needless to say, I had to take the following day off work also. If you have this company scheduled for a move, cancel right now and get someone else!
