I 100% agree with others re warning NOT ever to go to this hospital. I was transported by ambulance to trauma with my hand torn open and left for hours without anyone even looking at my injury. My husband tried relentlessly to get the attention of medical personnel. Eventually one doctor came, took one look at my hand and said I needed surgery right away. At that point I could no longer have food or water. I then waited for more hours for something to happen. Nothing. The nurse became agitated and rude with my husband's persistent pleading for help. After a number of hours I was admitted for surgery. 24hrs at Sunrise I was refused food and water because I was supposedly having surgery. Finally, I was SO dehydrated that I couldn't take it anymore and drank water. All this time, the hand surgeon refused to come. I was at Sunrise with my hand torn open for 2 days before a doctor actually looked at my hand and immediately ORDERED the surgeon to come and perform surgery. All this time, I was so worried about getting a staff infection! Thank goodness for my husband being there or I would have received no attention at all. The most caring member of Sunrise was an extremely kind orderly who took pity on me and said herself how shocked she was that I was just being left to fend for myself. Never expected such terrible care with private insurance. DO NOT GO TO SUNRISE HOSPITAL !
