Me to Warriors clerk: "As you can see from the holes in them, these shinpads I bought two weeks ago from you fell apart."
Clerk: "Oh... um, did you wash them?"
Me: "Have you experienced unwashed shinpads?"
Generally shinpads last me a couple of years, with regular washing and drying. These were basic house brand ones that didn't include a foot section and were (over)priced at $25.
According to the salesperson, Warriors only accepts defective products back within 2 days, with a receipt. I've had a mixed bag of experiences buying supplies there in the past 10-15 years as a Toronto-based martial artist, through various changes in ownership, but this is a new low.
Moral of story: Don't buy Warriors' disposable, non-returnable shinpads, and look around carefully before you buy anything else there, either.
