| - I am a huge cupcake lover and maker and to say this place was terrible is a huge understatement. I got a Living Social deal for 12 jumbo cupcakes and tried to reach Castle of Cakes several times with no such luck. The first attempt was back in October to order the cupcakes for my daughter's 4th birthday. The owner recommended that customers text her the information so after doing this, she did not respond until days later when it was too late to order for my daughter's birthday. The second time I tried to order was a week ago. Again, I could not reach anyone over the phone and the message recommended emailing them. I emailed with an explanation, date of when I would like the cupcakes, and the flavors, with a few questions. By the time I received an email back from Sonya it was already the day I wanted to have them by. She said to text her with the day because that would work better. I did just that and readjusted when I wanted them since that day again had passed. Thank God I kept all the texts and emails because when I went to pick them up she was extremely rude, and said that they were supposed to be for several days ago, and that she had made them and nobody picked them up. I whipped out my cell phone and showed her the texts and emails that prove she was indeed wrong and that they were due today at that time. She didn't quite know what to do and said she was baking some right now and she would get some together for us (my 10 year old daughter was with me). She made us wait without offering a thing. She was rude, the place is a dump, and the quality of work is absolutely awful and how she gets anyone to order a thing from her is beyond me! We wait for 30 minutes and she puts an assortment together that is not what I had ordered ahead of time, but at this point I honestly don't care. She actually had the audacity to say I owed her $3.25 for tax. I was astonished that after all of her errors that she would request this of a customer. I only had a debit card with me and she said her machine wasn't working so not to worry that she will let it slide this time because I will be back. Are you kidding me?! I couldn't get out fast enough......and as thought the cupcakes are awful folks! If you know anything about baking you will taste that she doesn't use real butter in her buttercream but shortening and it's not the kind of quality you would expect from a bakery that specializes in cakes. Don't just walk away from this place, run as fast as you can to Gigi's Cupcakes or Madhatter Cupcakes to get your "cupcake fix" for Castle of Cakes is horrendous on all levels......trust me and the other bad reviews!
