I'm really happy that I waited until after my third experience at this location to write about it here, on Yelp.
Let me start by saying that I never even wanted to go into a David's Bridal because it's so... basic. But at the same time it's like an all in one type of thing and it seems so easy. So, My MOH and I decided to snag a last minute appointment and I'm incredibly happy with that decision. I found THE PERFECT dress and a great price. That day our sales associate was TOP KNOTCH! I wish I could remember her name. She has longer blonde hair and is best friends with the store manager (who also left a great first impression- I hope she sees this)
Leaving DB that day I was literally floating. The dress came in within a month and I was notified via email. Now here's where it started to go south...
MOH and I made an appointment for her to try dresses on. At that time I would pick my dress up. Two birds, one stone. Well I guess that special treatment that they give brides goes completely out the window when it comes time for your bridal party because we were shown no attention and had to do everything ourselves while the sales associate invested her time in a bride to be. When we were walked to the fitting rooms by a sweet older woman, the woman called the name "Kristen" and the sales associate snapped at her "my name isn't Kristen"
That was within the first 5 minutes of us being in the store. "Not Kristen" needs to respect her elders and put on her humble pants. From this point on "not Kristen" ignored us.
Luckily, that same store manager I mentioned from the day I purchased my dress popped in towards the end of our experience and said hello. I was honest with her. I was totally disappointed that even with an appointment we were ignored. We grabbed every dress we needed. We searched high and low through the inventory. No one checked on us. It was nothing like the first time around. She immediately spoke with her staff and attention was redirected. I really did feel like this was a fluke, maybe the associate thought I was just there for my dress and happened to also find my way into the bridesmaid stuff. "Not Kristen" pulled it together and demonstrated her ability to be of use. Thank you.
Anyways, I left that day feeling like the problem was solved. My MOH purchased her dress, and loves it. In retrospect I wish we would've ordered a new dress and not the used an abused one they have on the floor because it's def not in the best condition and the price was above what we were planning.
Note that all of my bridesmaids will be wearing different dresses in the same color.
My third trip to DB was today and I left PISSED OFF. A bridesmaid made an appointment and I stopped by to see how things were going. She told me that she thought the sales associate was upset with her and annoyed. At this point I'm completely dumbfounded. How is it ever okay for a customer to feel this way?
This is a different woman than the last two times. Unfortunately the gem who helped me the first day is the only competent employee who takes her job seriously and apparently doesn't work the days we were there. Sad face.
The associate was no help to my friend and with over 75 bridesmaid styles and even more special occasion dresses you would think she could suggest SOMETHING. ANYTHING. She had short blonde hair and an attitude. How dare we bother her.
It was at this point that I wished my MOH hadn't gotten her dress here and we had gotten the bridal party attire elsewhere.
Ultimately, my bridesmaid left empty handed and ordered a non-refundable dress from the website that apparently isn't in a single store in town. *rolls eyes*
My fitting is just 6 weeks before the wedding and after reading about some of the other brides experiences I've decided to reschedule to allow time for error. Unfortunately my expectations are just so low at this point and we still have two more girls to get into dresses.
Combined, the girls bridesmaids dresses will be more than double the cost of my gown and I just really wish they would've had a similar experiences to my first one.
In conclusion: Only schedule while the manager is there and be open about your experience.
Don't purchase bridesmaids dresses here. Save yourself the headache.
I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING THE TWO FLOWER GIRL DRESSES I NEED FROM THIS PLACE.
This is supposed to be an exciting experience and this location needs to weed out the sourpuss employees and get some smiles in there.
