| - The best nights in life are usually the ones that aren't planned. Starting off on one of those nights, my three friends Jerry J., Matt B. and Gracie C. and I hit this place up last night (6/29/11) after we all got off of work. The plan - get dinner and bring it back to Gracie's place at the Veer Towers to play pool.
After a short little walk from Caesar's, Gracie and I walked right on over - it's right by the pool table on the third story. Jerry offered to buy dinner - buying a whole pizza is definitely the way to go at this joint - $18 for a huge cheese pizza and an extra ridiculous $2.25 per topping. We opted for 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni which came with 12 slices for $20 plus some change. It's so much cheaper than buying by the slice, but you'd never know because there's no menu.
We sat around for a bit until one of our coworkers showed up with some people while giving them a tour of the place. There definitely isn't enough seating here whatsoever. After about a 15-20 minute wait, we had our pizza. The four of us then made the trek to CVS to pick up some pop and water.
After our trek to CVS and battling the wind, we headed up to the 37th floor of the Veer Tower chow down on the pizza. It had been at least a good half hour since we got our pizza and it was still relatively hot when we opened the box
I've definitely had better pizza. Metro, for one, is super delicious and this doesn't hold a candle to Round Table. Yes, going to a "secret" pizza place might be "cool" but their pizza is not even remotely close to the "I'm a fan" 4 stars or "As good as it gets" 5 stars that so many people are giving this place. Novel concept but again, the pizza is meh. The crust is hard. Not chewy, not crispy, but break your teeth hard. That automatically disqualifies it from getting higher than a 3 star. The cheese was okay, but again, not the best any of us had ever had. We all agreed there was definitely better pizza in Vegas.
