| - Solid, but aging, community spot that feels nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
I stopped in again here recently to check out their library, and the place hasn't changed that much. I used to come here frequently for board meetings with a committee I worked with, and even though that was years ago, nothing's been upgraded or renovated in that time. It's still a decent site (the Toastmasters workshops are of particular interest if you're learning to improve your public speaking skills), and there's a wide array of seating available if you want to sit and hang out.
The big thing that drags down the place is the staff. I used to have a heck of a time dealing with a doorman who used to try and force me to pay for little-league hockey games whenever I'd go to the upper level for a meeting, and I'm glad to say that the guy is still there and still frumpy. The front-desk staff aren't much better, either.
Still, this site has a lot to see and love, especially the recently-built baseball diamond and athletic fields behind the centre. If you haven't checked those out yet, you're definitely missing out.
