  • I would swear up and down that I'd already written a review of this Fresh & Easy location, but it's nowhere to be found. *hmph* I absolutely LOVE Fresh & Easy, and seeing as this is the location closest to mi casa, it is no exception. I am here many times during the week. The location is easy to access from both Boulder Highway and Racetrack. There is plenty of parking. I love the concept of this store and their name really says it all. The store is small and they have a limited selection of products, which are mostly their own brand and helps keep the prices down. For quite awhile they had a "2 for $10" meal deal - which was bascially a 3 course dinner for 2 people for only $10. You could choose an appetizer (salads, bread, etc), a main course (everything from bacon wrapped chicken to pasta to pizza) and a dessert (individually sized cakes and cupcakes). My Mom and I would go in there and stock up for a couple of weeks worth of dinners. Everything we had was really delicious. Unfortunately, I haven't seen those specials in awhile, but luckily each item is still available individually. The produce section is tiny, but it still packs a punch. Everything is reasonably priced - last weekend I bought a small-ish sized seedless watermelon for $.19 per pound. It ended up being about $2 total and was one of the juiciest, most delicious watermelons I've had in a long time. We also bought 2 racks of ribs that were on sale for $3.99 each. They only cooked for about 15 minutes and were really amazing. You just don't find deals like that anywhere else. Their wine selection is surprisingly decent (similar to Trader Joe's). They have $.1 wine sales pretty often. They have some good craft beers available as well. 2 things that I really love about this place: they have my favorite curry mix (Golden Curry in the green box) and they also sell key lime juice, which is really hard to find normally. They just have oddball little things that you don't see other places. Also, I they keep prices low by letting you be your own cashier. There are employees around to assist, but basically you ring up and bag your own items. I like that A LOT. I joined their "Friends Rewards" club awhile back and they send me coupons and special promotions often. The points add up quickly and after 500 are earned, you can actual turn those points in to money (500=$5). I have actually paid for a good portion of a recent trip there with my friends rewards money. The only trick is that you have to convert the points online, you can't do so at the register. Lastly, we ordered our Thanksgiving dinner from F&E last year. That may sound crazy to some, but everyone had to work, so we weren't actually going to have a dinner at all. Until I saw their ad for a ham dinner with 4 sides, rolls and a pie for $50. That blows away any competition in the area. So I ordered it (online), picked it up in the store the day before Thanksgiving and was on my way. Everything was packaged perfectly in a large box that made it easy to transport home. We ended up having our dinner that weekend when everyone was home, and it was quite delicious. Bottom line: if you live in the area, this should be your neighborhood store. They have great prices, and exceptional quality, if not a large selection. It's something different, and fairly healthy, and once you get used to the concept, it can't be beat!
