| - If everyone subscribed to the "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" theory, I can only assume nobody would ever find out this place exists. I have had a lot of bad experiences trying to receive medical help in this city, but this place was the absolute worst, bar none, that I have ever seen.
I work hours that make it very had to get in to see a doctor. Everywhere I can find either opens so close to when I have to be to work that it's iffy whether I'd get in in time or closes at or before the time I get off. I finally found this place which the website states is open 'til 9 and I was getting off at 7, I figured this should get me time to get in if I hurry (we all know what lineups can be like at walk-in clinics)... so I called in advance to arrange a cab to pick me up from work, went straight there, and got there by 7:10. There were only two people waiting (who had to sit in the mall hallway because what passes for a clinic here looks like a closet with a few shelves for patient files and a desk with a single nurse behind it), so I figured I should be golden, right? Wrong.
I waited in line behind one woman who was simply asking a question and didn't even ask to see anybody... but just as she walked away and I went to step up to the counter, the nurse put up a sign stating they weren't taking any more patients that evening... almost 2 hours early of the advertised closing time, and with only 2 people waiting. I'm no medical expert by any means, but I've been to a lot of walk in clinics and never had a doctor there spend more than 15 minutes seeing any one patient which means they should have had more than enough time to see at least 2 or 3 more patients. When I spoke to the nurse and practically BEGGED to be seen (because the Health Link phoneline had stated it was very important that I see someone within 24 hours, but my matter wasn't pressing enough for an emergency room and I would have been waiting 4-5 hours and had to work in the morning) she not only shrugged me off and told me to go to an ER, but when I explained the problem there was told it "wasn't her problem" and she just walked away back into the file room, completely ignoring me.
The lackluster facilities and out of the way location would be more than enough to leave a sour taste in my mouth, but any service that essencially closes almost 2 hours early, and treats their customers like their weight in garbage frankly should be ashamed of themselves, especially in the business where people are already presumedly in the midst of a bad experience and looking for help.
I can't stress this enough: it would be worth the emergency room waiting time to avoid having to do with these people.
