My mother was a patient at The Center at Arrowhead. During her stay, daytime staff was very good. The facility itself is beautiful and modern looking and the food is good. However, the night time staff leaves much to be desired. My mother needed help in the middle of the night because her blood sugar was going too low, and could not get a nurse to answer the call button even after shouting for help for nearly an hour. She called 911 to get help before a nurse came in. Two days later, when her blood sugar fell low again, she asked the night nurse to check her blood sugar. The nurse refused. They did not chart her low blood sugar. In addition, an LPN on staff incorrectly advised my mother that her short-acting Insulin was long-acting insulin. Finally, my mother spent the entire night unresponsive and disoriented with no one calling me. I found her in the morning essentially unconscious and was advised that she would be transferred to the hospital on a "non-emergent basis." When my mother got to the hospital, we found she had vomit on her that had been there since the day before. Please don't send anyone you love to this facility. They need to make some serious changes.
