| - I used to shop at Danier Leather in the Fairview Mall in Toronto, but that store is not listed any longer. However, my comments apply to all Danier Leather products, so the particular store is not important. I have one Danier "bomber jacket," which I like very much--although it is quite heavy and has a "left-hand zipper," which is apparently popular in China but which I hate. And it is about their leather jackets made in China that prompted this review. I have found that if you are an average sized man of Western descent and find a Danier jacket in your proper chest size, the sleeves will be about an inch or inch and a half longer than they should be. Why? Because they use Oriental men as "models" for sizing their clothing, and an Asian man with a large chest would also be very, very tall. I even wrote to the Danier CEO and told him that he needed to resize his leather jackets to Western standards, but he insisted that they do not use Asians for their sizing. Some time later I bought a McGregor leather jacket--size large--and it fit perfectly. Danier Leather's jackets in large size too often have arm lengths that are waaay too long--again, due to using Asians for modeling their sizing. Now that's OK in an Asian market, but when you bring your clothing products to a Western market they should fit the average Western man or woman without any great modification--and having to remove the sleeves to shorten them is a pretty big modification for a leather garment. Anyway--Danier didn't listen and now they are going out of business.
