| - So sad my experience was so terrible :(
I was super excited about trying this spa since I am staying at the palazzo. I didn't book a service at this spa, but I paid the $50 spa pass to use all the amenities. Which to me was very inexpensive when I read all the amenities they offered inside.
When I first got to check in, there was a short way, no biggie. The reception area is not grand like the rest of the hotel. Which really surprised me. Because the style of the hotel for Venetian/Palazzo is all so over the top. Quick check in, paid my $50 and I was told to walk to the right hallway. Nice waterfall with name of spa greets you before you open the door. I was getting excited. But as soon as you open the door, you are met with a small desk, where I guess you are suppose to check in with the attendant to get a locker. I been to a lot of spas and that's usually how it works. But I could tell this could be confusing for guests who are unfamiliar with this process. (And I was right, because I saw ladies walking around the locker room lost, wondering who are they suppose to see to get started).
A girl came to the desk and asked me to fill out the form. Literally just put your name here and here and sign. No greetings, no smile. But I could tell
By her expression that it was a busy day. I could also tell there was a lot of ladies visiting the spa. I was lead to locker, she told me how to work the lock (just pressed the tag on the knob and press in- really cool ! never seen that before!). She gave me a booklet that gives you suggested order of how to use amenities. And quick tour of the place. First thing I noticed is that the robes are sooo huge! And although it looks like you have pockets- there are no pockets. So I was literally carrying the little booklet around in my hand. Then I just read it and tossed it hoping I will remember the suggested order lol. Another thing - for a spa of this magnitude I honestly think the robes would be a little nicer and newer. I had stains on mine. And I think having maybe different sizes would be nice too. Now let's get to why I gave this place 2 stars. As I walked around to get a sense of where things are slowly, I noticed the layout of this spa is little odd. Mainly because they provide you with some areas that are co-Ed. And to get to these areas, you have to walk to other hall ways but I think some signage would help. It's very confusing. I would say the atmosphere in the co-Ed relax lounge is nice and open . But wave room, salt grotto all were very disappointing. The wave room for me was not that relaxing, but the reflection on the ceiling was too distracting? Just my personal opinion. Both room was super small- Seating is limited to about 8? ppl in each of those areas. Good luck if you go on a crowded day. So I went back to the women only area and decided to just do the aqua spa. When I got to the soaking room there are literally used dirty towels and used cups EVERYWHERE. I honestly tried not to think about it at first. But it's a little hard when you are trying to relax in the hot tub( which by the way is so small) you look out and you see a sea of cups and towels on the floor. Dirty towels hanging on the rails too. I also noticed a dirty towel half soaked in my hot tub in the corner. And it was brown... yikes! I got out..... I thought ok just chill, go look at the other amenities they offer. Maybe it will get better......well it didn't.
In addition to the cups and towels everywhere. You also have to watch your steps because there were Many water puddles everywhere. I was constantly looking down so I didnt slip! In the steam room, you can see a huge mountain of dirty towels in the corner. Finnish sauna (dry heat) -the seating is odd, unless you go on a day not crowded. Your are in someone personal space just to climb down the benches. It has tiered seating.
My last hope was trying the experiential showers -I read and saw videos about this... so I was so excited to experience it.... but both were not fully functional, like one has tropical storm working but not cool fog. And the other had cool fog but not something else. Ugh I got so frustrated at this point I went to shower and leave. I honestly was in a worse mood leaving this place before I got there. When I made a comment to mgt, he said it's crowded. I get it but maybe they need to step up the staffing. Having all those cups, towels, water puddles everywhere is just not acceptable.
Just think....
If they are that busy neglecting just picking stuff around the physical property , what other important things are they too busy to do? Gross.
Although they offered me a comp pass to come back again- I declined. Good thing I didn't book a service.
