Had my entire AC system replaced in 2012 by Precision Air.
I scheduled to have my first service on this 5 ton Bryant unit. My first scheduled apt was from 2PM - 6PM the first week of Feb. I received a call from Precision at 5:10PM to inform me that I was next on the list and the tech should be arriving close to 6PM. After waiting all day, I informed the scheduler that I would need to cancel and that I didn't care how far in advance she had to schedule it but I wanted to be the first appointment of the day. She scheduled it for 3/11/15 at 8AM, at 8:30AM on 3/11/15 I received another call that there was an emergency and that the technician wouldn't be out until around 12 noon. I explained that I would like to reschedule and regardless of how far in advance, I wanted first appt. She scheduled it for today,3/12/15 at 8AM.
I received a call from Precision this morning at 7:46 AM, the lady on the other end told me that the technician was just leaving Chandler and would be at my residence in @ 45 minutes. He arrived at 9AM, so much for 8AM.
This my first service on my brand new Bryant AC system and I was just informed that the run capacitor on the outside unit needs to be replaced - $153. I asked why a capacitor would go out in such a short time and told that the manufacturer uses midgrade components and that it falls back on the manufacturer.
I have a family member, same last name, who is in the process of replacing both of her 4 ton units and is waiting to hear about my first repair experience with Precision. Needless to say, I will suggest that she scrap her plans to have new variable speed Bryant's installed and go with a manufacturer that have a better reliability and won't crap out after the first two years.
My $159.95 service call ended up costing $313.15. $153 capacitor that lists for $10.00!
