  • So you know not everybody loves their doctor or lawyer personally. I go to a doctor because he can cure what ails me and Phil is the guy you go to to fix your Strad. I've known Phil for ten years and as a professional cellist, he has done the best adjustment on my Italian made cello I ever had from any luthier. Many colleagues say the same thing. I've seen him magically change an instrument from so-so to something remarkable. He has a shop full of wonderful instruments that range from beginner to concert artist. His own instruments are also represented. I did eventually switch to an Injeian and have enjoyed playing it. His shop in the cultural district is a cultural venue in its own right! Because he makes fine violins from scratch like a great chef.
