| - We've been here multiple times and their seafood has never failed to impress. The fish is always fresh and you can get it cleaned and tidied up after you pay, on the side. The people working behind the counters are always so helpful and informed about the seafood and what would be good pairings. They sell crab cakes uncooked and cooked ones, both for $3.75 each, although do keep in mind they are smaller than the ones they would serve you next door. They have a large, well-stocked variety of dried/shelf goods - canned soups, wasabi, hummus, caviar.
Their fridges are stocked with oysters and clams usually by the 5 dozen, crab legs, stuffed crab shells, bags of frozen scallops, smoked salmon, etc.
Typically, they have around a dozen types of oysters out, in addition to clams, sea urchins, and scallops out on the glass. Their prices are very, very reasonable in comparison with their restaurant next door. Their medium Fanny Bay (BC) was $15.99 per dozen today and another medium BC one was $22.99 per dozen. You can't just get one or two though, it's by the half dozen, which /can/ be a little hard if you only have one or two at the table.
Nonetheless, one of the best seafood markets I've ever been to - reasonable prices, excellent stock, and always fresh!
