| - It's fine. We ordered the JoCano roll, Hawaiian roll, spicy tuna roll, and regular California roll. My favorite was the JoCano. The Hawaiian roll was good, I just had to try it after seeing a photo on their FB page. Check out my photo too, it has butterfish, crab, avocado, strawberries, and ponzu sauce. At first the berry really hits you but then you can taste all the other flavors. I enjoyed it, but it's definitely a roll to share for me - I don't think I would eat a whole one because of the sweetness. Overall I did think the rice in the rolls was a tad overcooked. When picking up the rolls there was a definite "mush" factor.
As for service, we went on a Monday night and the restaurant was about 1/3 full. We were seated promptly but then waited a bit for a waitress to show up. We had already decided on our order by the time she came to greet us. After that delay the food came out quickly, one dish at a time. Probably best since the plates are huge and the tables are tiny. We had to finish off one roll and stack the plates in order to make room on our table. Another thing...they have plastic chopsticks. They are too slick, especially when trying to pick up rolls covered in ponzu or other sauces. Wood chopsticks, FTW.
The interior is very pretty, nice ambiance for a date. Tons of lanterns decorate the ceiling, and there is a large cherry blossom tree sculpture above the bar. I like the garage doors. Gives a nice open feel to the place. Since I live in Tempe I don't think I will travel to it often. If you live closer, give it a shot. They have happy hour specials from 3-6 pm, as well as a lunch menu.
