  • For whatever reason, everytime I go to Sal's I end up in the comfy chairs by the big main window that looks out onto 17th. I don't often end up at Sal's during patio season, so my experiences have mostly been at night. It's not bad. They've had DJs spinning house, and they have been decent. The dancefloor usually seems to have about two couples, or max eight people on it and there usually isn't that much space for more (or maybe space is made, but I just don't stick around to see it). I just don't get that dancey energy from Sal's. To me it looks and feels like it should be more casual than it ends up being. The people are super friendly, which is a bonus, but some of the guys veer into creepy territory, which is not. Drinks veer to expensive. And so the window, where I can people watch on 17th, watching people stumble by, get into and out of cabs, and line up for the Ship and Anchor. To a soundtrack. And so it's ok.
