  • Although I am not thrilled about how I ended up at Canyon I am certainly thrilled that I found them! Infinite star review right here! I was in a huge panic after I had taken my English Mastiff to her usual "wellness plan" place for routine check up, teeth cleaning, etc & she came down with a bad case of diarrhea (then vomitting) that wasn't going away after a couple days (thinking she could be doing it as the anesthesia leaves her system). I called and they said I could bring her back in the following day. I did & received THE WORST service at a vets office, ever. They wanted to run the same test that they did a when I brought her in for check up & another test that I later found out wouldn't even apply to her. In any case I asked to speak to the vet so I could ask a couple of quick questions & they said that she would call me. After waiting about three hours I finally called back and said I was just going to come pick her up. When I got there I asked for her to be brought out and for the phone number to cancel my Wellness Plan membership. I STILL did not get one question asked of me as to why I was picking her up before the vet had seen her or why I wanted to cancel after having my dog there for her first 4 years of life. No offer to speak to the vet-they just didn't care. Sent us on our way like nothing. The next morning Bella was vomiting a big amount of blood and had blood in her diarrhea. I naturally was thrown into a huge panic and was frantically trying to find a great vet that would take her in asap. I came across a few vets near where I was at the time but they couldn't get us in. One told me to take her to an ER vet. I didn't want to feel like another "number". Then I came across this five star review for Canyon/Dr. Hehn (who happens to be less than a mile from my new place). I called & was astonished that he was the one who answered the phone! He listened patiently as I was trying to explain AND keep myself "together". He calmed me right away, told me his concerns, said that he was willing to take a look at her, and I could bring her in right away. His energy radiates the greatest of kindness. His confidence & knowledge are top notch. I knew before hanging up I had found the perfect person for Bella's wellness needs. We arrive at the clinic about 15 minutes after speaking on the phone. The girls up front are sweet & attentive. Every single person said hello to both of us & genuinely cared that we were there. Each person took at least a few minutes to pet Bella too(which I think helps relieve animal anxiety). The doctor saw us within minutes of us walking through the door. He was as great in person as he was on the phone and I felt very confident in his answers and in his treatment plan that completely made sense. We were in and out of there in probably 30 or 40 minutes and I could already tell that Bella was feeling a bit better. Special kudos for a sweet girl named Jessica, her bedside manner was perfect & she was very personable. Was nice to learn that she had worked there for 4 years. She gave Bella fluids and some other meds. And gave detailed instruction on the meds that were going home with us. Later that night Dr Hehn even called to check on Bella. That is genuine care & thoughfulness. Bella has not vomited once. The diarrhea is getting better. I can tell that she's still not feeling like herself but I think we're on the way. :-) It was such an amazing feeling to feel like a priority as opposed to being ran through a mill. I seriously didn't realize what we had been missing out on going to that other place. I didn't even look at my bill til later last night. So incredibly reasonable. Even if just for the peace of mind. I would give an infinite amount of star rating for Dr. Hehn & his sweet staff. My Bella definitely has a new permanent vet! Words cannot express how grateful I am. Thank you!
