  • I guess i had really high hopes for this museum. Last summer I saw a Warhol exhibit at the High Museum in Atlanta that I absolutely loved- i can only imagine that most of the more popular pieces were out on loan and that's why they weren't here. We parked in a lot for $8 and a grumpy attendant questioned whether or not we were intending on going to a baseball game later in the day (we weren't). Then we went inside and paid an arm and a leg to get in, and had to ask for headsets for the guided audio tours. They reluctantly handed them over, while messing with them for a while to make sure they worked, and holding on to our drivers licenses as reassurance that we would bring them back. Oh, and the audio tour only really worked on the 7th floor, so I kind of wished I hadn't bothered because then I just had to carry it around. As directed, we started at the top and worked our way down. It was cool learning about his early life, and we did see a couple of his more iconic pieces. I also liked seeing some of the commercial work he did. I read somewhere to visit the Archives because reading about his skin care routine was fascinating- well, I don't know if they switch this stuff out periodically but a skincare routine was not there, I was so bummed. I also read to not miss "The Factory" but I didn't realize that space didn't open until 2pm, and we were there from like 10-12. I was disappointed about that, too, but not enough to wait around for 2 hours. The gift shop was fine, and they do take credit cards. Probably wouldn't visit again.
