I learned the hard way that Chapters practices "showrooming". Found the book my daughter needed for her course on line at a decent price. Called the store, & they put it aside. Arrived at the store a couple of hours later, only to discover the in-store price was + 38 5 % more than on-line. I asked the cashier about this insidious practice and was informed that Chapters on-line and Chapters Inc are two separate entities! Huh? I call it a tax on students, who leave things to the last minute!
Isn't this illegal? I wrote to Heather to find out, and the weird thing is I am still waiting for a reply. In the meantime, I am avoiding the store like the plague! Here I come, Borders!
