  • Don't be fooled by Lending Tree, which is one of the first links that you find on search engines when you want to compare lending rates. The rate provided by their "lenders" were all much higher than the rates quoted by major banks in my area. If you want a high rate mortgage that will cost you thousands of $$ more over the life of your loan then this is the place to visit. But otherwise it's a complete waste of time for those looking to refinance jumbo loans in California. And NEVER give them your real birthday, SSN or any other personal information as you have no idea where that info will end up or how it is protected.
