Didn't go directly through this company, a friend of mine is a realtor and was helping me find a rental. Saw a house that was being leased by apartment hunters, loved it, immediately Sent in my four applications ($35 a piece) for my family, sent in pay stubs for income verification, everything, and in addition, was told to put in an earnest deposit ($500). In the end, didn't get it, because apparently apartment hunters goes through and picks and chooses who they want. I have been renting for quite some time and have never heard of a company or even an independent landlord who would do anything but first come, first serve. How is that fair?! I was told they picked someone with a better credit score and higher income.. HELLO?! Why do you think I have to rent?!? So what now? Am I just never supposed to get a fair chance at a property managed by apartment hunters because anyone else with better credit can come and just kick my application out? Completely disgusted with their method of operation and incredibly heartbroken that I was unfairly beat out on a house that I truly loved.
