| - SKIN Sensations is amazing! I have been noticing changes in my skin lately. Age spots, sun damage, broken capillaries, enlarged pores, and the like. I just wasn't liking what I was seeing in the mirror. I'm a granola girl. Not a fan of botox or surgery, but when my friend recommended JoEllen, I was curious.
I was nervous about my appointment, but JoEllen put me at ease as soon as I arrived. I filled out paperwork regarding the condition of my skin and my goals for treatment. JoEllen suggested a course of treatment, suggesting I begin with a basic photo facial, which uses a laser to erase sun damage, age spots and broken capillaries, and shrink pores. She suggested a dermapen treatment for the future to help smooth my skin and get rid of fine lines.
She prepped me for the photo facial, which included getting me comfortable, cleaning my face, and placing pads and opaque guards to protect my eyes. She started slow, testing different areas to see how my skin responded to the laser. She is VERY careful not to use too much intensity that would burn or blister, but to use enough to get the results you want. The discomfort was MINIMAL...I would not even say it was painful. She applies a cooling gel to area she's working on, so you barely feel the laser. She treated my face, neck, chest, and shoulders. The whole process took less than half an hour!!
When I finished my treatment, she explained after care. My skin felt a little bit tender at this point. I would compare it to a very mild sunburn. The sunburned feeling lasted a few hours after, then was gone.
It has been four days now, and I am amazed at the change in my skin. The spots that were darkened by the laser are coming to the surface and sloughing off. I am wearing minimal make up, and have looked fine at work the last three days. No one had even noticed the darker spots until I pointed them out! I am seeing wonderful results: tighter skin, smaller pores, less sun damage. Even though it takes two weeks to fully heal, I'm so pleased with my results already, I couldn't help but write this review!!
I am DEFINITELY a happy customer, and will DEFINITELY go back for more treatments. One thing I really loved and appreciated about JoEllen was her affordability and her honesty. I've researched this type of treatment before, and the cost was WAY more than I could afford! (My spouse and I are teachers. We don't have a lot of disposable income.) JoEllen wants beauty to be affordable and accessible. I can't even begin to say how much that means to me. I don't have to be wealthy or go into debt to have healthy, beautiful skin. Being able to pay a few hundred dollars for a treatment versus thousands makes a HUGE difference.
The only regret you'll have about Skin Sensations is that you didn't go sooner!
