| - More of a 4.5 star review for mammograms. Let's face it, ladies, none of us looks forward to the annual boob smashing...and we sweat the results, but it is a necessary part of preventative healthcare. Only you and your PCP can decide what is best, but a baseline at 40 (or earlier if your history suggests it) and then bi-annually or annually, again based on the individual. Many factors go into how often and at what age one should start, a conversation with your Primary Care Physician, Gynecologist or Oncologist will decide this.
Because of certain health issues, even before I was of age requiring yearly mammo's, I got them and continue to. Not qualified or interested in
dispensing medical advice, this is a review of nearly a dozen visits to the facility.
Several times issues arose where biopsies were necessary and I'm not going to say it was fun...but the staff from FOH to Drs & techs were all AMAZING! It is a scary thing to go through, and a nurse holding my hand really made it easier. They even give you tiny ice pads to put in your bra to alleviate post biopsy pain.
I'd suggest this facility to anyone and further encourage ALL women and men (yes. Men get breast cancer!) to always perform
monthly self exams and follow whatever your PCP tells you to do regarding mammos. We are in a large part in charge of our health, and while it might be a little scary and uncomfortable, you owe it to yourself to make sure all is in order.
They also provide general radiology services though I've not used them in this capacity. The FOH staff is friendly and wait has never been long, either to make an appointment or for procedure.
Be healthy!
