  • This place deserves 0 stars at best... Dr Helen Ryan is unfit to be a vet. She diagnosed my dog a few years back, as having a torn ACL, and said bed rest to see if it healed on its own. Well I was forced to bring the dog to another vet who then showed me the x-rays that Dr Ryan sent. Sevral vets all said that it was impossible for a vet to diagnose a torn acl, with a large dark area coming the knee. The newer vets urged us to get a biopsy, because they highly suspected Cancer, the biopsy results came back, inconclusive as to what type of cancer she had exactly, but where certain that she did have cancer. Going through financial crisis, we came in contact with a company that would pay for her procedure (leg amputation) because of cancer (she was dragging her paw top side down). Dr Helen actually disagreeed with the vet specialists she sent us too, and told the foundation that we had contacted that "it was not a life or death" type of surgery. That it was a simple torn acl, the foundation confused from lab results & Ryan's comments I was contacted by the foundation. They told me of the "problem they were having" with Dr Ryan's description of what was wrong with my dog. After sevral months we were able to get a loan to pay for the procedure for our dog. The leg was removed, and sent to pathology, and showed that my dog did in fact have cancer & the acl was intact... We lost our dog less than a year after her surgery. Her cancer metastasized into the dogs lymph nodes, the cancer my dog had, had a 95% chance of not returning. Because our dog's vet was unfit, to practice medicine we would of been able to help our dog sooner. I suggest anyone who is looking for a vet to keep walking past this vets business.. She has had many complaints regarding her treatment of animals... If you love your pet, find another vet, rather than risk your family pet at the risk of her incompetent hands. New grades are better prepared that Dr Ryan.. We never return any of our animals to her office afterwards... Unfortunately it didn't save our beloved dog who was family to us...
