  • I've had acrylics before from a few different nail salons in Las Vegas and I have always been able to soak them off at home when I want a break from them with no problem. I decided to get a full set for $28 at Sun City Nails right before thanksgiving of 2015 and now that I want a break from them I find I'm dealing with something other than the 'normal' acrylic that I'm used to. I tried soaking them for 30minutes and they are a sticky mess! They don't act like the acrylics I've always had on in the past. So with some research I found out that MMA acrylic will react this way plus if the tech uses a drill to file down ALL the time instead of a file and where's a mask and everything is in unmarked containers! Which in this case Kim, was my tech. She does good work but always used a drill, even used a drill to sand down my natural nail bed before my first acrylic set, I said that I've never had that done and Kim said that the acrylic needs it to stick to the nail. Which if I was educated in what MMA acrylic was I would have walked because that right there was a red flag in my face saying they are using a dangerous MMA acrylic! You do not have to file drill the natural nail bed down for The EMA acrylic the legal and none poisonous kind. I believe Sun City Nails use MMA acrylic products because I have soaked in 100% acetone for 30min and I have a sticky mess! I have to keep repeating this process over and over until it comes off! Also my nail bed look horrible! Also I have been getting regular pedicures here for about a year and my toe nail beds are brittle! So what kind of base coat and product are they putting in the nails??This is way scary! No wonder they are cheaper! You get what you pay for! I'm so mad I didn't educate myself prior to using this particular salon, I guess I got lucky in the past but I did pay a lot more for acrylics too in the past. Bottom line is look up what MMA acrylic is and then be informed! Educate yourself be empowered and ask questions. I will never go back to this nail salon because they ruined my nails! Shame on you Sun City Nails!!!
