Keg rental beware!!!!
I rented a keg for my 4th of July party and what a huge mistake! I went here purely out of location and because when I called, they seemed nice and friendly and I didn't anticipate any issues. Well, when we picked up the keg, it was a younger guy that helped us and he was kind of a douche. Like upset that he had to actually work. It was noon on July 3rd and we were the only people in the store. Whatever. He didn't offer to help us get it in the truck or anything. I felt like he just really wanted us to pay and get out quickly. We muscle it and left.
We had all the prep work done so we packed it in our container with ice, and tap it. The tap was loud as we pumped but I thought it was just building up pressure. When beer came out it was just dribbling. No foam so we kept on pumping. The faster the pump, the more beer came out. The party wasn't until the next day so I thought we had nothing to worry about. WRONG. People are at my house and there's no beer. I called Liquor Outlet and there's no answer. Assuming they were closed, I went to Lee's and bought beer. What else could I do???
Today after work, I took the keg back. It's so heavy. At least 3/4 full. The guy told me that it happens sometimes but it's really my problem since I broke it. He gave me back my deposit and said it was too bad for me. Are you kidding???? All that money totally wasted. I feel like they should have offered at least half of my money back. How about an apology??? He said it was the keg and not the tap. How do you break a keg???
I plan on calling back tomorrow to hopefully talk to a manager but seriously.... save yourself the anguish. Lee's Liquor is right up the street. Way better selection and way nicer people.
