  • Loved this new hotel. The lobby is very cool and modern, with a pool table and fire element outside with modern/clean sophisticated lines. The elevators have the pretty blue lava flooring that moves around when stepped on. We found the rooms spacious and efficient. The big screen HD tv was great and the Bliss toiletries a treat. The bathrooms are sleek with modern fixtures with a huge glass enclosed shower. The gym is nicely furnished. The towels are huge and fluffy. NOTE TO HOTEL MGT: I would advise hotel management to put a rubber block on the end of the sliding bathroom door, since it slams so hard the whole room shakes with a loud bang! This is probably not good for the long run. Also, twice I had to fix the rolling blinds by manipulating it back on the side tracks so that they roll up or down properly. Bad design. I can see some guests not caring and just continue to roll up the blinds, destroying them. And, you need to put a metal guard on the room doors, so that when guests go out to get ice, etc, and use the metal bar to keep the door from locking, it doesn't eat into the door. I saw several doors with paint and wood chipped from guests doing this. Lastly, Mgt, you need to fix the elevator buttons, What the hell is "F" floor, B3, G3, L, etc? I saw someone put cheapo dyno labels next to the buttons, You need to talk to the architect and get better designs for them so that they are self explanatory. Drinks at WXYZ are a little pricey and the bartender didn't seem to know how to make a Cosmopolitan! Really? When the waitress delivered my drink, I told her it was not a Cosmopolitan, since it had no cherry, was totally clear and on top of that, the martini glass was half filled. She seemed not to know what a Cosmo was either. We ordered these hamburger sliders and they were miniscule! 4 quarter sized hamburgers! However, I loved the vibe of the lobby and the social/party atmosphere. We came on July 4th and faced the river and saw the fireworks from the lobby and then in our room. Valet parking is $20. We came back on July 7, using our SPG points, and the hotel was alot quieter. The only negative is that if you're facing the tracks, the room shakes every time, the train passes. It's a little disconcerting, like in a small earthquake. Lastly, this new hotel uses new key technology. There's no place to slide your key card in, instead you just hold it again the door plate, and it opens. cool.
