| - More often than not, I find myself posting Yelp reviews that are intended to be read as either sardonic analyses of poorly crafted lobster rolls, or as cute anecdotes for love and life. This review of Dr. Lavit, however, is neither.
You see, Dr. Lavit is worth more than any quippy analysis of the newest local hotspot, or cynical evaluation of a longstanding, necessary but never pleasant institution (*I'm looking at you, DMV*).
Dr. Lavit is a kind, compassionate, competent psychologist whom I've had the pleasure of knowing for the better part of the last several years (decades even). Although I am living across the country, he has never once denied me a phone call or left an email unreturned. His continued support and confidence has made many of my life transitions seem less gargantuan, and more manageable.
Bear with me here - reviewing a psychologist is difficult without igniting my personal dumpster fire for all of Yelp to see. Combing his decades of experience in child development, parenting, and clinical and counseling psychology, Dr. Lavit offers impartial, research-backed recommendations that are both effective and assuring. I can, unequivocally say, that without Dr. Lavit, I would be a much more discombobulated graduate student mess than I currently am.
Also, for what it's worth, Dr. Lavit has a rescue dog who is just the cutest, sweetest little beast. And, as an aspiring developmental psychologist, I can attest to the therapeutic benefit of human-animal interaction should you ever see the little guy in the office.
