This was my first time staying at Monte Carlo and I have to admit that I was quite surprised by my experience here. My initial thoughts about staying was a little iffy, but after my stay, I am definitely sold on Monte Carlo as an inexpensive hotel to stay at that offers a great location on the strip and good comfortable rooms to sleep in.
I have stayed at the MGM tower too many times to count and the east tower at the Luxor so it was awesome to find out that the rooms at the Monte Carlo are comparable. Similar furniture, similar bed, similar layout to the room. I say similar because they is definitely a difference and I definitely prefer MGM, but it is close enough especially when taking price into account. Apparently, Monte Carlo had gone through a remodel in recent years and it looks they will benefit from it because I liked the rooms here.
The casino is smaller than some of the other hotels but they do have pretty much everything you could want. Roulette, video poker, that annoying Wheel of Fortune game and etc. Restaurant wise they have only few choices but there is variety and they seem fairly decent (we did eat at a couple of them. To be reviewed). Checking in took quite some time but hell, you only have to go through it once during your stay. Overall a pretty good hotel that I can definitely recommend. 3 stars!
