  • Frank & Lupe's Old Mexico - An Old Scottsdale Favorite from back in the day needs some help today. This used to be my 2nd favorite Mexican / New Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale. Today, I hate to say, not so much. Unfortunately, the service and food do not live up to my found memories a decade or so ago. I even tried the new Ahwatukee location with the same result. I ordered my typical combo plate and everything was greasy and didn't have that fresh, perfectly spiced taste I came to love. I am not sure if it is under new ownership, but something has changed drastically to the quality of the food. I will say the chips and salsa were very good. So, if your going in for a margarita or beer, get the chips and salsa to go with! They still have a great patio out back, I just hope they work on their food quality so I can update this review and give them the 4 stars they used to deserve.
