Short story - My AC was working great until I called Apple for a tune-up. The tech disconnected my unit and refused to put it back together unless I paid him $200!!!
Long story - My AC was very reliable. I just wanted a simple tune up. Imagine my surprise when he told me that my compressor was not working and that he is leaving it disconnected to make sure we don't use it. He said he did not want to be responsible for an electrical fire. I tried to insist but he indicated that he would charge me 200 dollars to reconnect it and it might not work.
(Later. I hired an electrician to inspect it but that wasn't able successful because the Apple tech removed the connector and took it with him- without my permission.)
That was in April and we did not hear from Apple again until 8/1 when Apple called this past weekend. It was 90 degrees outside and they wanted to know if we were ready to buy a new AC from them. My husband complained about the previous service. He wanted to know why they didn't fix the AC rather than disconnect it and why they took a part without our permission. My husband then threatened to involve our attorney. Apple responded that they would rather just come out and fix it that weekend - they never showed. I'm calling the BBB.
