The beer here is solid! A couple of unique beers that deliver nicely. I spent a good bit of time trying to deconstruct the "How Now Brown Cow." The description was chocolate, pine and citrus. I got the pine...and some other woody notes...but never did put my finger on it. Bizarre...but in a good a way. Again...solid beer here.
The rest...
You know how you go somewhere...just...knowing...you're going to really like it? The name, "Wooden Robot," the reviews, the word of mouth, the pictures. I knew the Robot was going to be a slam dunk. Unfortunately...I got stuffed by the rim.
There's just not a comfortable feel to the place. Maybe they are looking for the middle school dance feel...but I didn't come here to drink Schnapps and bust out my best running-man.
The prices felt heavy too. If I were getting some imperials and seriously high gravity offerings...I wouldn't have blinked. I blinked.
To leave on a positive note. I'd come back. I liked their beer...and isn't that what it's all about? They also have great growlers with a maple syrup feel and the swing top stoppers like a bottle of Grolsch. Very nice addition to the growler collection!
Try: The Good Morning Vietnam and the How Now Brown Cow (and buy a growler)
