  • OMG! If I could give a dozen stars I would. And at the risk of increasing the wait time with my review, I owe NF whatever praise I can bestow. Date night with another couple found us at my ALL-TIME favorite Las Vegas sushi emporium (is emporium the best word?) We made reservations a few days out because it was the birthday for 2 of us. NF is located n the West side between Twain and Flamingo on the west side of Durango. It's easy to get in and out of the unassuming strip mall and there's lots of parking. The entrance looks like the proverbial "hole-in-the-wall" eatery. It's not well lit, but the overhead sign is easy to see. The interior is darkish and there are not many seats. However NF is a "true" Japanese sushi establishment. The staff is Japanese (not Korean, as found in many places). While this might seem trite, it does go toward the cultural knowledge of preparing and serving true sushi. From there, surprises await :) The hostesses/servers are sisters with so much amazing personality, I thought they were practicing for a stage show. All three who helped us (in no particular order) were lovely, happy, and accommodating. Nothing but smiles from them. The fish is the freshest I've encountered ANYWHERE! The variety and range of items is astounding. We even found many unusual Japanese items. We had traditional nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls and cut rolls. We also had Agadashi Tofu, deep fried Barracuda, whole mackerel (which they removed, deep fried, and returned once we had eaten the outer fish ... leaving a deep fried spine and head ... yes, yummy!) So many delicious treats and quite a number of fascinating items to explore. As a finale ... and because we had 2 birthdays at the table, they brought a complimentary order of Tempura ice cream!!!! This was high-quality ice cream dipped in tempura batter, deep fried, cut into quarters, and each quarter covered with a fruit topping. It was decadent and delicious. This is the "go-to" sushi place IMHO! If you go, enjoy!!!!
