| - So I guess I'm the rare person who didn't think True Food was the best thing since sliced bread...I'll admit, I'm a pizza and wine, steak and potato kinda girl, and I like feeling full and satisfied after I pay for a meal...this did not happen here. The Husband and I were practically starving when we decided to go here. And since it was on our list of places to try, we thought, what better time. Without even looking at the menu really, (which is unlike us) we shot over there like we were racing other cars on the road.
Here are the positives:
The hummus was really good. Kindof reminded me of Olive and Ivy's, which I love.
To drink I had the vanilla lemongrass sparkling tea which was so amazing. I could drink one everyday during the summertime.
The Husband had the short rib, which was actually pretty tasty.
The not so positives:
The portions are small. His short rib plate was kinda small and I knew he'd be hungry later.
I had the steak tacos which I didn't enjoy because the steak was too charred so my whole taco tasted burned...that pretty much ruined it for me. The beans that came with it were ok, but kinda spicy...
Overall, I ate my burnt tasting tacos because I was starving...but I don't know if I would have liked them even if they weren't burned...outside of the burnt-ness, there weren't many other flavors going on. Husband said the leeks and carrots could've been cooked a little longer...but that's his personal preference.
While I appreciate the healthy aspect of this restaurant, it's just not my kindof place I guess. But I would definitely go back for the vanilla lemongrass tea!
