50 Greatest Photographs of National Geographic Exhibit - although a previous reviewer said it closed June 1, I can confirm it was open into June with no mention of a closing date while we were there.
I'm not sure this is a draw for everyone but I certainly enjoyed myself and spent much longer than we had planned here. My fiance is a photographer so he liked hearing about the photos from the view point of these experts in his craft and was enjoying the techniques discussed and I liked learning about the stories behind the picture. There was so much beauty, cultural and political topics all rolled into one place I was just fascinated. It's different than reading the magazine because the text there is about the story. It doesn't talk about the specific girl in the specific photo and the photographer's relationship with that girl before the photo was taken is never discussed. In the magazine you don't realize the photographer spent months gathering photos for that story - MONTHS! In those months they get to know things and form relationships that aren't part of the official story. I liked seeing the perfectly average photos leading up to and directly following the famous one - they look a lot like my photos :) They have videos from interviews with the photographers behind a couple of the photos which was nice to spice up the information delivery.
Overall it's a well done exhibit. Although they charge as much for this tiny exhibit as many museums charge for the whole place, I still got my money out of it.
A tip - Tix4tonight (Casino Royale has one next door) had tickets for $13 taxes in while we were there so that helps create a bit of a deal.
