| - This is the kind of coffee shop that anyone who cares about espresso and coffee will avoid like the plague. Look, when I saw this place in Lakewood when I came back into town I was hyped. It was attractive, contemporary, and had cappuccinos and lattes that didn't come in sizes. This is still a novelty in Cleveland. My wife and I were excited to get some legit cappuccinos, so we went in and ordered two.
What was presented to us was some kind of hilarious travesty. It was the first capp in a decade+ I can remember not finishing. Terrible flavor, terrible steaming of the milk, terrible integration of the milk into the espresso. We left our cups with nearly half the drink remaining and exited Goodkind disappointed.
You can see the type of drink you'll get in the photos on this Yelp page. Foamy milk piled on top of crappy espresso, rather than creamy steamed milk poured skillfully into the espresso. You can get that at Starbucks. So why bother getting it here when you can go to Phoenix, or even Blackbird for Pete's sake, and get a great classic capp?
The atmosphere is cool, the vibe is cool, the idea is cool, but fix the coffee. Because it is a coffee shop, after all.
