I visited this urgent care for a consultation since I had yet to find a primary care doc in the area. The staff and the physicians/physician assistants were great. Courteous, intelligent, and effectively the kind of staff you would want in a medical facility.
Except the nurse I worked with. She was condescending, requested I wear a gown when I wasn't being examined and without verifying that there was any reason I would need to disrobe. Additionally, she insisted on physically placing my hands and arms in the appropriate positions for blood pressure for the standard oxygen level finger test, and holding them in her desired position until the tests were completed.
Whether her behavior was a reflection of what she assumed I was there for (verification of a negative std test), she came off as judgemental and unfriendly. She did her job, and I'm sure she's quite good at it. But her demeanor and dismissive response to my distaste for needlessly disrobing had the effect of creating an atmosphere where I felt like my personal boundaries were not respected.
I left the clinic with a referral to a pcp and a consultation that solved my issue, but unfortunately my experience with the nurse means I will not return to that particular urgent care, and will hesitate before visiting another location.
