| - It's been 6 years since my review of this restaurant! Man does time fly by. We used to eat here a lot and our name for it was Best F'n Hong Kong Dining and it still holds true. If you want a roast pork or duck either to dine in or to go this is your place. Although restaurants that sell Chinese style BBQ meat are common in CA, it's hard to find in AZ so I appreciate that Best Hong Kong offers it. While we were dining here we did see a fairly constant stream of customers coming in to get the roasted duck to go.
We came here to dine in. Last time I was here they had family meals which included a ton of food and were a great deal for what you got. It seems like they did away with this but the prices here are still reasonable and they have a good variety of items to choose from. At our recent visit we had the roast pork with bitter melon, combination tofu hot pot, sauteed rock cod fillet, and sauteed Chinese greens. All our dishes came out in a speedy amount of time and tasted great. You know a place is a legit Chinese restaurant if they have bitter melon on the menu and their dish didn't disappoint. I'll admit I can't eat a lot of bitter melon and will usually only eat a few pieces but the rest of my family enjoys it and I liked the BBQ roast pork included in the dish. The combination tofu hot pot is one of my favorite dishes here, filled with a generous amount of fried tofu, thinly sliced scallops, large shrimp, calamari, chicken, shitake mushrooms and vegetables. Quite a lot in just one hot pot! The Chinese greens we had were baby bok choy I think and were well seasoned. The rock cod came with a generous portion of tender fish with vegetables.
Service here was very friendly and sweet by a young lady and gentleman who spoke both Mandarin and English.
The decor is a bit dated and slightly grungy (It hasn't changed since my last review lol) but hey, the food's good so I'm not complaining!
