Besides checking expiration dates, make sure you watch the price being charged while at checkout. The last time I was there, I was overcharged $5 for a bottle of olive oil. My mistake was paying for my items and only afterwards checking.
I noticed while at checkout, but the cashier could not correct the problem. I had to go to the customer service desk. Now this turns into a 25 minute ordeal where I show them the price tag on the shelf. Apparently, I'm also supposed to read the bar code on the item.
The oil I chose was organic but the sign only stated the brand and size. There were no other bottles besides the organic and no sign other than the non organic.
I had to speak with 3 managers and walk to the sign with each to show the issue. Finally it was determined that they absolutely would not honor the price. The refund was excruciatingly slow because the girl at the desk seemed angry with me and decided her internal paperwork was more important than the customer.
Each of these people treated me like I was a criminal. I called the store on the way home to speak with a real manager several times but was put on terminal hold each time. The last attempt put me directly to voice-mail where I asked for a return call. Never received.
For $5 why bother? How many times have I been overcharged with an entire cart of items where I could not possibly remember the prices?
Lastly, you need to wear rubber boots in the fithly washroom.
