Monetlago Village Resort is very clean and appealing. However, it is truly disappointing that there is no life at "The Lakes of Las Vegas." The area is unbelievably gorgeous. Yet, the area doesn't bring in locals or travelers to the area. I had a great desire to visit. Although, it was breathe taking with the architecture; it sadden me to see the landscape properties that are abandoned with the regular up keep and the enormous golf course has NO golfers or anyone using it. It pained my heart to see this. I initially went to check out the brunch cruise. But, the business is so bad out in the area; they no longer have it running. I walked around to the shops and many were not open. I viewed a sign that said "call for reservations." What?! If you are passing by how do you know this and how can they keep in business without being open? I had a bad feeling when I heard the "Ritz Carlton" closed it's doors permanently and declared bankruptcy. The article informed of possible trickling affect with other hotels and business. Such a shame when it so amazingly beautiful along the lake and residential homes. I am hopeful of a massive turn around. Perhaps better marketing? I was surprised nothing was living. No music, not many walking around. Just really dead. A serious ghost town.
