| - Thank you, fellow Yelpers, for the forewarning about this place. I failed to read the reviews, and peruse the low ratings that you have so diligently posted; that I paid dearly for it.
I was looking for a travel makeup brush set for my wife, as one of her Christmas gifts. After doing some research, I found that Ulta had a travel makeup brush set that fits conveniently in one's purse.
Note that I have been purchasing makeup as a gift for my wife and daughters for many years now, and I am definitely not a novice at this. I don't need assistance, and I just need to be pointed in the right direction.
Not so at this store. I ran into not one, but 3 condescending store clerks that spoke as if I had no idea what I was talking about. All three indicated that there was no such thing, and that I need to put a set together from various brushes available in the display on the north side of the store. I summarily informed said clerks that I already read online that they had a particular brush set that was in a travel case.
My insistence got the eye roll, and that immediately caused me to walk away even though they were still talking. I went there for a purpose, and I was intent on getting what I spent all this time researching without further delay or attitude.
I finally gave up looking for it in the north side, and wandered onto the south side of the store; where lo and behold - there was a travel kit section!
And what was in the travel kit section, you ask? A travel makeup brush kit!
Perhaps, these ladies were on commission? Or the south side of the store is akin to shopping at a Kmart or something; and that the merchandise on this side were low margin.
I knew what I wanted. I didn't need distractions. And yes, I buy enough gifts from Ulta that I am actually an Ulta Rewards Platinum member. This means that I have been to enough Ulta's in town to know when customer service is great or dreadful.
In this particular case, it was Pathetic!
