| - This is the best new restaurant in Vegas! It's also a rarity being an eating establishment on the Strip that has a Happy Hour! We went to Happy Hour after reading the great reviews. We were not disappointed at all.
The food we ate was tremendous. The crab cake was as good as we have ever had, be in Boston or Baltimore. The shrimp and grits, while advertised as spicy, is not spicy enough to keep my wife's delicate palate from loving it! The strawberry champagne salad is unique and superb! As other people have stated, the portions are better than most Happy Hour foods. We finished the meal off with the pumpkin dessert, very good.
What so many restauranteurs don't realize is that a good Happy Hour draws people in to sample your food, service, and cocktails. If you pass that step, then you have customers who are coming back regardless of being Happy Hour or not. That is us. We will come back for the pork butt, the filet, the salmon entree, the mahi, the scallops, etc. The prices on those dishes aren't outrageous. They aren't the best, but if you have dined on the Strip, you know you are paying top dollar. At least here you get fantastic, friendly service and exceptional food.
FWIW, I've owned a restaurant, been a general manager, a bar manager, a bartender, and a waitperson, oh, and along with a dish washer. I am judging this eatery on one visit, but boy, it was an unbelievably exceptional visit.
We will be back!
Oh, forgot to mention a pet peeve of mine they overcame. Sitting at the bar, Searsucker had more than one person wait on you, EVEN ask you if you want another drink or some more water! What mattered to them was if you had good service, not whether a certain bartender waited on you. Good job, Searsucker!
