| - So the show we saw here was great, but the venue itself has put a bad taste in my mouth. First of all their security is way over the top and the workers are super rude about it too. Imagine the attitude of a stereotypical DMV worker and add in security basically as intense if not more so as airport security. I get that it's all for my own safety, but is a purse check (where they literally check every pocket), a pat down (last time my boyfriend was basically felt up), a body scan with one of those panel metal detectors and then an ID check... its way too much for a concert venue. My friend even had to put up a fight to bring in aspirin!! Yet somehow someone always manages to sneak weed in.
My second big issue with is place is the price of drinks including water. Sure I expect beers to upcharged in a venue like this, but a small bottle water is something like $4+ and if you ask for a cup of tap water, they tell you they aren't allowed! In a hot, sweaty, crowded concert hall that serves alcohol that seems unethical to me.
The one redeeming quality of the venue is that it's small which means you can get pretty close to the acts. And they tend to host pretty good bands. BUT, with a completely flat floor short people like me (I'm 5'2") I'm lucky if I can see anything anyway. Also, I think they oversell because everyone is packed in super tight and you literally run out of places to stand because if you stand in a designated walk area (like to the bathroom) they come around and ask you to move.
Bottom line, I want to look for a different venue to frequent but this probably won't be my last time here since they host the groups I like.
