This is my favorite theater because it has IMAX, lots of screens and fairly early matinees (sometimes at 11am where I *might* share the theater with 3 other people) Food is EXPENSIVE last time I spent $13.00 on popcorn and a kids size soda.
I read the review about having purses searched. I didn't really care if they looked inside my purse. I wasn't smuggling candy. I did ask the employee at concession about it and she said they were looking for guns because of "all the recent shootings". I said "You do realize that about a quarter of Las Vegas is legally carrying and I don't carry my gun in my purse?" She said they were taught to watch how people walk, too.
The whole thing sounded like they were more trying to avoid a lawsuit than protect people. I have a CCW and carry my gun in a holster. I don't look or walk any different and it's not in my purse so this policy does absolutely nothing but profile women for searches. Also, I always take a hoodie because the theaters can get cold. I had a bottle of water in the hoodie draped over my arm. Fairly heavy, bigger than all my hand guns... and not noticed or searched.
My solution is I'm just going to remember to wear clothes with pockets and not take a purse. I doubt this policy will last long but I do hope to talk to the manager about it.
