  • Cozy, casual, fun, affordable, good quality food. When they fire on all cylinders you'll receive calamari without a hint of grease, wonderfully nuanced (and homemade) al dente pasta, often served with fresh seafood. Brick-oven pizzas are very fairly priced and are among the best in town. The watercress and goat cheese pizza last year was a creative and unusual standout. Avoid their bolognese, which is too greasy, bacon-y, and salty. If you're looking for pasta with a ton of ground meat in it you'll enjoy the dish, but I found it to be a mediocre rendition without requisite mirepoix flavoring. A one-note plate. A recent special of puttenesca with shrimp and cod was outasite good, as good as any pasta dish I've ever had. Cannoli is sub-average, mix drinks aren't spectacular but are quite strong; they had a terrific homemade 'hard' iced-tea-lemonade in years past that the drink menu misses. They're not redefining the meaning of Italian food but they do great pasta and breads and it's always busy and happening here. One of the best places in town for a date before a movie.
