| - Every current and future homeowner in Clark County should have Insurance Restoration Services on their speed dial for their restoration needs!
A recent water damage issue in my home required immediate emergency services. Steve Hill, Operations Manager at IRS and Rich Clark, Owner are the ONLY team anyone will ever need for thorough and complete answers to all of their questions regarding the water damage clean-up process.
As far as I'm concerned, this company is the gold-standard in this space. I would recommend them to anyone in need. I also plan to inform anyone I speak with (about my recent water damage ordeal) about IRS's invaluable assistance to me.
TEN stars for Insurance Restoration Services!!
**********
Below is a somewhat detailed overview of my initial experience (with my insurance company and the previous vendor GC that was provided to me). I will also share how IRS came in and saved the day for me. IRS made me wish they were my first call AND they helped me resolve ALL of the questions I had!
So, about six weeks ago, I had water damage in my home that was miscategorized by the vendor GC my insurance company provided to me. I know it was miscategorized, first and foremost, because I have eyes.
Secondly, I consulted EPA and ANSI/IICRC S500 standards. I've also obtained a second and third opinion.
Had my water damage not been miscategorized, I would not have been as egregiously inconvenienced as I've been due to an incorrectly applied "overabundance of caution" standard of care erroneously determined by my insurance company's GC. Further, my home wouldn't currently be subject to faulty repairs, which were also conducted absent proper permits and inspections (thereby making them subject to potential code violations, grrr!).
IRS consulted with me when I had to halt the repair work due to the issues listed above, as well as many other problems (i.e. the wrong color and sheen of paint, improper texturing, improper cleanup, false claims of work that was never conducted, woefully deficient communication, verbal abuse I was subjected to by a sub-contractor the vendor hired, etc., etc., etc. ad nauseum).
As a result of my absolutely horrible experience with both my insurance company, who refuses to apply the proper codes to the permits and inspection requirements AND as a result of my horrible experience with the project manager of the vendor GC (who laughed at me and told me that the dry portion of my floor that was improperly removed was "probably in one of the Mexicans' homes!"), I, unfortunately had to assume the mammoth and extremely time-consuming burden of conducting a ton of research in order to educate myself on the missteps taken in my claim.
My home should be in working order by now, but instead, I am six weeks in and I now have to effectively start over, according to a city inspector. I cannot even clean my home because every time I dust, more dust just piles on. I've had to shell out for several space heaters, air purifiers and I am going through air filters like they are napkins.
My dogs' paws and fur are covered in texture dust on a daily basis and the luxury of padding around barefoot is but a distant memory. My home has heat loss because the walls cannot be sealed with the door jams, casings, or baseboards. I transfer between concrete and wood subflooring every single day in high traffic areas.
All of this and here is the real coupe de grace....my policy doesn't cover for air quality tests (yet an "overabundance of care" was used for the demolition, wtf?! And, my insurance company claims I am not eligible for ALE's because I have working plumbing and access to my kitchen). I only have this access because the vendor GC ripped out all of the containments before they should have!! So, now, my home is considered livable, in spite of the loss of heat, etc....
Now for the good news! A small glimmer of light in this ginormous mess.
After my consults with IRS, my extensive research into water damage clean-up bears out EVERYTHING they told me as 100% ACCURATE! Between my conversations with Rich and Steve, anyone may rest assured that this company is 100% honest, and 100% on point in their knowledge and approach to water damage clean-up.
What's more, is that they are EXTREMELY attentive in clearing up any misunderstandings for the homeowner. Rich, whose philosophy is to actually protect the homeowner (GASP!), is absolutely trustworthy. This company's integrity is unrivaled, in my opinion.
As a result of IRS's detailed consultation and patience with me, I can FINALLY move forward in my home repairs with the secure knowledge I needed weeks ago!
Thank you very much, IRS, for all of your help and hard work in assisting me. I plan on referring you to not only homeowners, but I will do my best to put your names out there in my networking circles and to any builders I come across as I re-enter the real estate market as a buyer this year.
I cannot thank y'all enough! :o)
