| - I've received a TON of massages from a multitude of masseuses and after my very first massage with Ali I knew she was the best I've come across. I'm a certified yoga and martial arts instructor, so when it comes to body awareness and alignment I look for more than a talented masseuse, but someone that really knows how to iron out your muscles and untangle the knots in your body with top notch efficiency. I've only come across a handful who fully understand deep tissue treatment and Ali is at the forefront of that small list. Plus, beyond being exceptional in her skill, she gets bonus points because she really loves what she does so she's ALWAYS in an excellent mood with a smile on her face. If you want a truly effective massage, just go already. If you're a guy who thinks a "girl" isn't strong enough to give you a good deep tissue massage here's me laughing and crying for how wrong you are... :*D
If you still aren't convinced:
I've had a very respectable number of sports injuries throughout my life-- wait, strike that-- I've had a RIDICULOUS number of injuries, ranging from broken bones, torn muscles, multiple neck fractures and tailbone fractures, so needless to say I've needed the type of work Ali provides: Full body rehabilitation! lol. I would describe her treatments as painfully delightful. If you want a "feel good spa experience" Ali would oblige, but where she excels is breaking down the fascia and retraining the muscle tissue to relax and surrender back into proper alignment rather than cramping up to protect your injury... or to protect the way your neck hurts since you sit at a desk in front of a computer screen all day with posture that looks as brilliant as Quasimoto from the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Honestly, you can't get an effective deeptissue massage without a healthy amount of pain, it's simply unavoidable, so it's extremely important to have a knowledgeable masseuse you can trust to apply deep pressure with precision to avoid further injury. Currently, I see Ali three times a week for one hour because I'm still dealing with chronic pain from a motorcycle accident where I fractured my neck at C6 & C7. This accident pulls my shoulder out of alignment and causes serious pinching in my neck and shoulder whenever I lift weights, do yoga and it sometimes prevents me from lifting anything even the size of an orange when it's too agitated. 3 weeks into massages and I'm noticing my pain disappate to the point that I'm starting to forget I have an injury, unless I'm lifting really heavy at the gym of course. But, I couldn't even lift heavy at the gym before!
I thought going to hot yoga 5 days a week could do the job, but I've been doing it for years and truthfully it comes down to the fact that I have serious muscle tissue that needs to be broken down, PERIOD. Think of Ali like a body mechanic and in this day in age we all have something messed up in our posture. She'll get to the source of the painful problem and fix it if you give her the chance. Remember, like all good things it takes time, so you can't get it accomplished in 1 session. I just finished my 8th session tonight; now we make noticeable progress every session, but tonight we finally made a breakthrough and I could feel her working out the deepest kink in my neck--I'm talking about the "optic nerve" of my injury, the eye of the hurricane where it feels like an icepick in my trapezius... the pain is bearable because of the relief you feel right away, but seriously, imagine the relief I'm starting to feel when I've had this going on for 5 years and finally found someone who knows how to fix it.
I referred my brother and after 1 session my brother also said she's best masseuse he's ever come across. He's an athlete with zero injuries and he goes to her once a week now for a regular tuneup. What can I say? Ali definitely knows her craft and I offer the highest of recommendations! Thanks Ali! You rock!
